A'Grash Foecrusher [Tier 5]
Apprentice - Mortal - Orc - Spellcaster
Gaining the title of “Foecrusher” amongst the Orcs is a feat not many can pride themselves on – A’Grash already held it at a young age as he made a name for himself in Sharok-Nar as a prolific shaman and elementalist of his people. Alchemist Minions [Tier 2]
Fantastic
A mage can hardly demand the respect of his peers without minions to prove his worth. Such creatures are often one of the earliest steppingstones in an apprentice’s attempt to rise the ranks and as his power increases, so does the number of minions under his command. There exist various kinds, often catering to the young mage’s abilities and magic of choosing. Their simple means of summoning and low upkeep make them perfect for daily, mundane tasks, or, in less desirable times, as cannon fodder for the spells and projectiles of an enemy.

Alchemists [Tier 2]
Mortal - Human - Healer - Spellcaster
Since the days of the Hybernian Empire, when the humans first rose against the Dragons, alchemy holds a dear place in their hearts. It was their assistance that allowed the humans to mend the wounds of battle before they had established their first schools of magic, thus playing a pivotal role in their early expansion. It is easy to learn, yet hard to master, offering much more than brewing simple potions or turning substances into gold. For this reason, it was the preferred craft of many advisors and scholars looking for ways to extend their lives and unearth the deep secrets of magic. In times of war, alchemists provide a supportive role for the armies of the humans, using their skills to heal their brothers in arms, while during peace, they act as healers and researchers.

Alira of the Hills [Tier 5]
Apprentice - Mortal - Human - Spellcaster
On days when dark clouds cover the sky, Alira thinks back to the warms of her childhood spent in a small village afoot the Grimwarg Mountains, only to be painfully reminded of the sight of her loved ones lying dead at her feet, massacred and sacrificed by the Norcaine who raided her village. She managed to escape the carnage, but cannot escape the remembrance that haunts her. Her hatred-filled heart has since forgotten compassion and love, only seeking to bring those responsible to justice – no matter the cost.

Arachnoid Abomination [Tier 4]
Demon - Fantastic - Titan
The realm of the demons is able to conjure many horrifying, deformed and tarnished beasts that feast on the fears of the ones dwelling above. Arachnoid Abominations are the epitome of such disfigured creations. They dwell deep inside their hellholes, festering in the eternal fires of this world until their demon lords call on their aid. They rupture the earth as they ascend from the depths, the scythes imbued into their arms and feet itching for blood. Their hunger is an insatiable void, and their massive size makes them equal to entire armies of skilled soldiers. Only the most skilled demonologist can even begin to fathom bringing them into their grasp, for they are loyal to the Red Horde, and lesser minds attempting such feats will soon find themselves lost in endless madness. Rumours speak of the circle mage Uram controlling such monstrosities, but many hope that they, indeed, are just rumours, for the gods may help them should these abominations ever be unleashed onto Eo.

Arsonists [Tier 1]
Mortal - Human
During the dark times of the War of the Six Races, the humans in territories occupied by the Dark Ones found themselves in despair, their backs mercilessly pushed against the wall. With no armour, training, or forged weapons to speak of, they devised plans to sabotage the enemies' supplies. Arming themselves with torches and dressed in light robes for quick movement, they used the cover of the night to rain fire on the encampments of Orcs, Trolls and the Norcaine, retreating into the darkness of the forests soon thereafter, avoiding losses and leaving their foes none the wiser. This strategy proved very effective, and due to its ease of execution, many human kingdoms, especially in the Highmark, kept it as a last resort in the battles to come, showing that you can never truly break the spirit of their people.

Thus, there is no dwarven army missing them from its ranks, for ever since the time of the great Dragons, the Dwarves know the meaning of unity, and so it is known that an Axewielder will never abandon his brothers in times of need. Banshees [Tier 3]
Undead - Aetheric - Spellcaster

Some experience such grief that they lose the will to live, remaining but empty husks of their former selves until their untimely death. However, even after death, their souls keep mourning, returning from the beyond to spread terror among the living. They are cruel and cold, feeding off of the fear they cause others with little regard for their suffering. Perhaps their souls will one day find peace, but until then, they are destined to roam the plains of this world.

Basilisks [Tier 2]
Mortal - Beast
The basilisks are mighty beasts hailing from the deep caverns beneath Eo that lead into the realm of the Demons. There, they roam on cold and dark paths, snuffing out life in their perennial search for flesh that would ultimately lead them to the surface where demonologists were quick to find a better purpose for their existence. They tamed them with magic before sending them into the armies of their foes – thus securing them their long-awaited repast. Basilisks belong to the lower ranks of the Red Horde, which allows even novices to take control of them. However, should they ever escape the chains that hold them in check, their short-lived masters will swiftly fall prey to their deadly fangs.

Though he is adept at the mental arts, he’s more well known for his sleight of hand that he often employs in his craft. Perhaps he could have become a grand mage, but his heart lies elsewhere: swindling and deception are his true calling, and they bring him the purest of joy, for there are a few things as important to a McWinter as upholding his lineage.

Combat Balloon [Tier 2]
Construct - Dwarf
A Dwarf feels most comfortable with both feet firmly planted on the ground. However, after the Circle had been founded, they have come to realise that the skies may prove to be equally as effective as an axe in their hand. And so, under the tutelage of Isgrimm and his vast knowledge, the Dwarves of the Windwall mined away at places forbidden and discovered metals that were both light and sturdy and allowed the construction of simple Combat Balloons. Still, such metals are extremely rare, and for that reason, the Circle claimed many such constructs for their own – yet despite this, the Dwarves know to recognise their value, and they have shown once more that one mustn’t underestimate the creativity of their people.

Corrupted Elder [Tier 3]
Mortal - Dwarf - Spellcaster
The leaders of the dwarves hail from the ranks of their elders, yet there are those among them who fell to the temptations of the mortal world. They turned their backs on their brothers in Windholme and joined the ill-famed Granite Dwarves, taking legions of loyal followers with them. They are amongst the few of their race who have truly mastered the art of magic – dressed in only the sturdiest moonsilver armour decorated with the finest robes in their realms. As priests, the elders lead their people. Blessed with the power of their God, Niethalf, their word is the embodiment of power, and their orders summon the armies of the Dwarves to be led by their centuries of experience. Mind you, even in battle, they do not merely sit idle – together with their brothers, they man the frontlines, hammer, and staff in hand, fighting bravely until the last of their foes have fallen.

Crossbowmen [Tier 2]
Mortal - Human
On the battlefield, the crossbow is surpassed by the lightning-quick elven bows, but in the hand of a Crossbowman, it is nonetheless a deadly weapon. Rising from the ranks of the scouts, they shoot not only faster than their comrades but with uncanny accuracy. They are rare, and their training costly, hence most warlords ensure they are equipped with chain armour, thereby providing them with the best possible protection and the longest possible use of their skill. Usually, crossbowmen take position behind the ranks or on the walls of strongholds, from whence they can rain a deadly hail of bolts onto their foes.

This cruel fate can fall on any one of Eo’s souls, often resulting in cruel, yet powerful abominations rising from their graves to spread calamity across the realms. Some still unaware of their fate, they continue their search for riches of morals, bringing chaos to the kingdoms of Eo once more.

Drummers [Tier 2]
Mortal - Orc
Although orcs were created for battle, they are not perfect warriors. The Blood God not only instilled in them the urge to kill, but also reverence for their master, whom they fear. And so, orcs gladly kill for their master, offering the blood of fallen foes as a sacrifice, but should they lose faith in either victory or leader, their fear is awakened, paralysing and weakening their desire to kill. For this reason, orcs seldom travel alone, and an orc leader must be strict and strong. The traditions of the orcs have handed down a tried-and-true method to ensure the courage of the hordes in battle: The drum. The orcish war drums sound whenever the hordes go into battle. Their thunder bodes ill to their enemies and promises victory to the orcs, reminding each warrior that the horde is with him. Drummers march into battle alongside their armies and even if the battle should turn against them, no matter how hopeless their situation may become - no orc will lose his courage as long as the drums sound.

Dwarven Workers [Tier 1]
Mortal - Dwarf
For generations, the Humans of the northlands have been singing tales of the legendary craftsmanship of the dwarves. They speak of giant towers atop mountains, defying the eternal frost, of monumental buildings made of pure, white marble, that lean over the edges of cliffs, and the grand halls that house elaborate feasts – these are but some of the creations of the Dwarves, the Race that inherited the craftsmanship of the Shapers. A worker Niethalf’s may be humble, yet he knows his craft like no other. Their hammers shape the roughest boulders into masterpieces, their smiths turn even meagre metals into impenetrable bulwarks to protect their brothers in times of need. Whether it be in the streets of their cities or the tunnels of their mines, one needn’t look fire to spot a Dwarven worker working tirelessly to support his people.

Mortal - Dwarf - Healer - Spellcaster
The waves of magic penetrate all Eo's beings. They provide them with vigour and lead the steps of those who decide to follow their call. Though the pride of Niethalf’s Race lies in their strength and courage, they recognise the virtues of magic and have learned to put it to good use. Dwarves who follow such paths dedicate their lives to the magical arts. Their songs shape rocks to their will, and as long as they weave their spells of protection, the lines of the Dwarves stand fast. The best of their kind become known as Stoneshapers, and the realms of the Niethalfsons accept them with glee. Even the Circle Mage Isgrimm once belonged to their ranks – so grand was their fame. Their glory may differ from the old legends of dwarven warriors, but nevertheless, they, too, will support their brothers in arms, be shaping the face of their grand cities or amid a battlefield.

Emissary of Calamity [Tier 3]
Undead - Cavalry - Armored
The arrival of the endless hordes of the undead is often announced by short times of great unrest. Birds flee from their nests, animals leave their burrows, and the ground starts to tremble, for wherever their forces march, death follows. The largest of their armies are heralded by Emissaries of Calamity – powerful undead riding on the backs of undead steeds, ready to spread death and destruction to all who are living. They are mighty foes, souls of great commanders returned to unholy life, and around them, they gather the lowly undead of the grey horde, sending them against the walls of the living like a never-ending ocean. But this strength is also their weakness, for should an Emissary be slain, his henchmen will be left without guidance, becoming easy to scatted by experienced armies.

Fire Elementals [Tier 1]
Fantastic
Elementals are knots of wild magic as old as time itself and found in places where the wind still whispers the stories of the creation of the world. They embody the powers of fire, ice, and nature and are as free-spirited as the elements that comprise all around us. They are neither good nor evil, neither friend nor foe. They are free creatures of Eo, existing merely to preserve this world’s pure form – nevertheless, the greed of mages has found ways to use them for their purpose, summoning them to carry out their master’s bidding, bound to their spells until the power inside them has gone extinguished.

A being that has died under the tortures of flaying represents a special attraction for necromancers, for the old teachings of Belial say that the more a creature has suffered while alive, the angrier and more powerful it will be as an undead. It is said that Belial himself carried out the flaying of his victims, and those who follow his ways will make use of these skills sooner or later.

Flesh Colossos [Tier 4]
Undead - Titan
After many devastating battles, the grey hordes of the Undead could be seen scouring the aftermath, stumbling around the battlefield collecting the still-fresh corpses of the fallen, stripping the flesh for them to use in unholy rituals. Once they have collected enough such power, they are able to grant existence to a Flesh Colossos, a massive clump of decaying flesh fuelled by the suffering souls of all those comprising its monumental frame. Luckily for the realms of the living, they are seldom seen roaming the lands, but on the rare occasions of their appearance, the ground begins to tremble beneath the steps they take. They are the fuel of many nightmares, immune to all forms of pain, not willing to halt their advance until the unholy flame of their beings has been extinguished – a feat often requiring entire legions: and many more that have tried and failed before.

Forgemaster [Tier 4]
Fantastic - Titan
When the dark races swarmed over Fiara landing their endless legions from their black galleys, fear grasped the hearts of the people of Light and they turned towards the dwarves for help, asking them for weapons and armour to stand against the tides of darkness. The dwarves realized that only united could the people of Fiara hope to weather the invasion and thus Niethalf’s sons rushed to the forges and began their legendary task. Day and night the anvils sang with the ringing of the hammers as the strong arms of the dwarves began to forge the weapons for the armies of light. But even the famed strength and endurance of the dwarves had to run dry before the task was completed. Weary with fatigue the dwarves called on their god to aid them. And Niethalf created the forgemaster, a large creature shaped out of stone. But rather than lending them his divine power, he implanted in them the strong will and dedication of the dwarven folk to finish their great task and oppose the hordes of darkness. Thus these rocksmiths stood side by side with the dwarves at their forges and when the legions of Darkness broke against their walls, they sallied forth and armed with their hammers of stone spread havoc among the enemy, driven by the strength of will of Niethalf’s sons to vanquish the dark armies from the face of the land once and for all.

It is said that some join the ranks of the revenants by choice, fighting and killing at their side, hoping to get rewarded with an endless existence as an undead. They feed on the rotten flesh of the dead and wallow in putrescence until their body begins to decay, and their only desires are death, destruction, and to feed on flesh. Thus, they themselves become undead and are some of the cruellest and most dangerous of their kind, for they have chosen this path of their own free will. However, the last remnants of this free will make these creatures difficult to control by the workers of magic. But once they are on the battlefield, smell the fear in their enemies, and taste the blood of their victims, they are formidable foes. Their bite is especially dangerous, causing an infection that can kill even after days or weeks if left untreated.

It was this bond that, ultimately, allowed the Humans to rise against the Dragons. The most adept warriors of the humans faced them atop the wings of their new allies. Using their cunning, they won battle after battle until the Dragons had been driven off of Fiara, and a new era ushered in. This friendship between Human and Griffon still exists today. Their impenetrable defence decimates cavalry charges, and their unique reach makes them indispensable in a well-rounded force.

Powerful Necromancers have once found ways to summon such beings from the brinks of the river of souls, encasing their rotten bodies into thick armour and using them as executors of their will. Even the Purity of Light, adversaries of all magic, summoned them into their ranks, providing them with enchanted weapons and armour, sending them to further their cause. Today, the remains of their order employ the very same undead to assert their power. Like fortresses, they follow their armies, fighting relentlessly until their soul stones have been shattered and their souls returned to the Mor Duine.

Horned Beast [Tier 2]
Demon - Fantastic
Horned beasts are the vanguard of the demons. Their skin, grown thick through torture by flame, is nigh impenetrable, and their horns pierce even the sturdiest of shields. Once their colossal steps shake the ground, the Red Horde has arrived. The swings of their trunk-like arms alone are enough to shatter bones and break spirits, for they may not belong to the leaders of their kind, but their raw ferocity and power alone command respect. Their mind may not be sharp, yet their bloodlust makes them less susceptible to being controlled – a lesson many had to learn the hard way.

The strikes of their weapons shake the ground neath them and give nefarious creatures reasons to flee. Together with the Elite of the Dwarves, they guard over the secrets of their people – from the icy cliffs of the Windwall, all the way to the murky mines of Underhall.

Ravagers [Tier 3]
Mortal - Orc - Cavalry - Armored - Beast
Ravagers are the elite of the Warg Riders. Battle-hardened through countless wars, they lead the charge into the fray, spreading fear with their unyielding stampede. Their powerful strikes and swift movements allow them to effectively flank the ranks of their foes, decimating them under the claws of their wild steeds and hunting down those attempting to flee their wrath.

Reapers [Tier 3]
Undead
Reapers are spirits ravished by inflicting fear upon mortals before putting an abrupt end to their existence. During life, they were often torturers or executioners who took great pleasure in their work. Still armed with these skills, they seek out mortals, and sow terror deep inside their hearts before releasing their souls from this world. Unlike tormentors, their strikes are quick but merciless, with many of their victims dying from the sheer horror they experience upon facing these creatures.

Scouts [Tier 1]
Mortal - Human - Cavalry
Since their first wars against the orcs and – in darker times – against the elves, humans know that not every foe will face their armoured units on the battlefield. Often their warriors were ambushed and slain without a chance to retaliate, or their enemy would retreat and flee out of reach even before their units had arrived. Since those days, scouts have been an integral part of human armies. They carry only light armour and are more manoeuvrable and much quieter than their comrades, sometimes riding on horseback. They take up position on the flanks of a battle, warn of surprise attacks and advance secretly into enemy territory, where they gather reconnaissance about their foes. Scouts are usually recruited from simple hunters and trackers that wish to serve their country in times of war.

Sentries [Tier 2]
Mortal - Dwarf
The losses the Dwarves had to endure during the War of the Six Races had been high – though they were virtually unmatched in close combat, the sinister magic of the dark ones cut deep through their ranks. To mend this flaw, their elder had decided that the people of Niethalf must be able to protect themselves from afar. Their small stature may not allow them the use of longbows, but their immense strength is a perfect match for the heavy bolts of crossbows. So, the hardworking smiths of the dwarves worked for months until their work had been complete, and not even the strongest armour managed to withstand their crossbows of iron. Equipped with new tools, the dwarves steadily protect their riches and their home – often to the dismay of those seeking the ancient wisdom of their race.

Skilled mages can make use of them, using powerful spells to reawaken the power dormant inside of them. Their hulls, hardened by Shaper magic, can resist most magic and weapons, making them irreplaceable titans of war for the few who manage.

Skeleton Archers [Tier 1]
Undead
Endless wars across Eo have left the ground filled with the remains of the fallen. These corpses are the vessels for hate-driven spirits wishing to return to the realms of the living, digging their way to the surface with their bony fingers. Such spirits often belonged to heartless murderers, butchers of the living wishing to continue their craft after death, gleefully inflicting pain and suffering onto others. Their hate makes them easy to control, thus, they make obedient servants to powerful necromancers. They often keep the skills they had in life after death, making them skilled warriors, archers, riders, and even powerful mages, and their numbers will keep increasing for as long as there are wars, with hungry souls looking to put an end to the world above their graves.

Slavers [Tier 2]
Mortal - Orc
Slave trade amongst the Orcs has its roots with the Grarg, the biggest living tribe of Orks. Their bloodline spans from Fiara over Urgath to their roots in Xu. The power of the Grarg lies more in numbers than in discipline and tactics. Therefore, many have become mercenaries or the allies of famed military commanders who profit from their ferocious strength. When they are not going to the war, most Grargs make their living by trading with slaves. Other Ork tribes scorn them for this occupation, but it earns them enough money and influence to steadily increase their sphere of control.

Snow Leopards [Tier 2]
Mortal - Beast

Seldom, they will inhabit the outskirts of dwarven settlements, hoping to, perchance, feast on the remains of their elaborate feats – or perhaps they simply lie in wait, hoping for easy game to cross their path.

Thankfully, their numbers remain few, but that hasn't stopped sinister mages from seeking them out to fulfil their own dark desires, using them to crush their foes with forces beyond comprehension. Perhaps most frighteningly, they devour the souls of those too weak to control them, further fuelling their unstoppable rage.

Tormentors [Tier 2]
Undead - Spellcaster
Undead feast on the pain and suffering of the living. The tormented screams of mortals as their flesh is torn from their bones almost serve as songs of valour for their endless hordes. Tormentors serve as the executors of this will, destined to perpetually torment those unfortunate enough to find themselves in their spider-like clutches. They often torture their victims for days, keeping them alive using dark magic, not allowing them to taste the release of death until their purpose as toys of the horde has been fulfilled. There aren’t many able to withstand their methods, which is why tormentors are often associated with being the interrogators of the Undead – squeezing secrets out of their prey before inevitably snuffing them out.

But when the elvenfolk was drawn into the struggle and intrigues of war and almost trampled down under the boots of the dark armies, they rallied to the side of Elen’s children. They left the tranquillity of their forests to face the hordes of the enemy and stand side by side with the elves on the Godwall against the tides of darkness. From that time onwards, the elves could call on them in times of need. Wherever the people of the elves are threatened, the wise and mighty Treants are at their side. Troll Cyclops [Tier 3]
Fantastic - Titan
That the jungles are home to a great many unusual creatures is widely known. But the story of the creatures called the Cyclops has remained a mystery for many centuries, for they dwelled remote from all the things that took place in the wider world around them. Their roots are a puzzle to the sages. There is something of the troll race in them, but if they really descend from these hulking brutes, perhaps being their grotesquely grown brothers, it is not recorded. Another theory casts them as being creatures of Zarach. One day they broke forth from the jungle, laying waste to the labyrinthine deeps of Urgath, destroying all life with their gigantic mauls - until, finally, they faced the Trolls. Soon they bound themselves to the trolls, not as willing servants, but as wanton giants, following with curious, unblinking stares, what these Trolls did, how they made their weapons and worked stone. The lumbering giants imitated the trolls, and thus, the bond that bound these two races was soon apparent. The race of the cyclops began to enter the battle side by side against the troll's enemies, and it has been thus ever since.
